Club Matters by MS

Sheepmount Three pitches have had work done by STRI pitch consultants. They are seeded and now in growing phase. Some grass is visible. These will be available for use pre-season of upcoming 25/26 season. Planning for longer lease underway.

Carlisle Weekender Acts now announced, ticket sales started. Discount available for weekend ticket over individual day tickets. Club is the venue, it has been organised with a commercial contact. It is good for the city and we hope to have this as a permanent fixture in the community.

Accrington Game/Champions League Accrington Sold out. We will show in Lounges in East Stand –  Champions league games started to be shown and will continue. If you have other ideas or suggestions for non-match day events, please let us know.

Port Vale Ticket sales very strong. 10k expected. Club will push fanzone stand in media outputs. MS has emailed media. “On Friday St John Ambulance are visiting the Fan Zone and will be based at the Supporters’ Trust gazebo. They will be carrying out free CPR training and have Resusci-Annie dolls with them. They will also have a training defib. It is a great opportunity for fans to take advantage of life saving training that could save a life. The initiative is part of the Supporters’ Trusts ongoing defib appeal. https://www.cust.org.uk/donations/defib/ donations can be made online and in person at the gazebo. They’ll be there from 13:30 for an hour.” MS has also asked for player appearances.

Memory Garden Extension – Work starting with volunteers. Twice as big. Monument/sculpture for former players/managers etc

Membership

RT asked what do you get for £10, the membership have an expectation.

DM chase up emails are sent to people who’s membership is about to expire

RT Why don’t we send a personal email rather than a Mojo automated email could put a Comms group email together, MR to put something together.

Probably worth this group looking at the American contingent and why some of them have dropped out CA

Comms

Note Videos, members helping with videos. We need to choose 2 or 3 and accelerate.

CA In terms of IT the wording for auto reply for emails needs to be agreed.

Invite expression of interest for co-opt members DM TW to look at role profile for this and also the wider board profiles.

The News & Star trust column will start again in the new season, we can run something if there is a requirement. RP

Succession Planning

Will be discussed in the next board meeting and most probably requires a standalone meeting

Twitter Space and review of member meetings

RP There are some statements about being too close to the club. Other than that it is mostly good. If Sunday doesn’t work for people, we might try a Friday.

In terms of meetings there is a Teams meeting planned for the 27th May, physical meeting June / July AGM is physical. CA

CUSG Update

CW Some discussion on the current banners in the fanzone and around the club. CUSG are planning to induct players into a hall of fame.

Latest CUSG meeting minutes are here https://www.carlisleunited.co.uk/news/minutes-april-cusg-meeting

Mike Dennovellis has stepped down from the board due to commitments.

BA ran through the workings of Co-opting.

CA does the co-optee need to be a member? CW We need to look at what skills we are looking for?

MR we may need to write something in the rules. If we have an expression of interest, then run through what skill they bring.

Defibrillator update

CA asked if we could get the defibs ordered

AOB

RT to put the gazebo and table out

CW can we send out some more emails to members regarding defib appeal

RT have we made a decision on what the extra money will be used for once the defibs are purchased.

Next meeting – May 14th 19:00
