Matt reported on club matters from the 1921 Board. Sheepmount pitch upgrades were ongoing, Crewe home game had been moved to Saturday November 30 and a large catering spend had been reported by Wigan fans at last weekend’s FA Cup tie. The club were canvassing ideas for use of the Fan Zone big screen on non match-days for non-football uses.
A survey of lapsed members was being prepared. A new plan was discussed to filter all member and fan feedback via the CUSG rather than taking it to the club direct via 1921 or leadership group meetings. This was agreed in principle.
The AGM on December 1 would include annual board elections. A third of the current board were required to stand down. Ally Simcock from Port Vale supporters’ trust had agreed to act as independent chair of the election management group.
Draws were made for the members’ boardroom and lounge places for upcoming home games, alongside the latest Junior members draw, which was for a prize of a signed home shirt.
Bank balance stood at £11,000.78, with membership at 1,154
