It’s very easy to forget about the importance of life saving equipment and training – until you need it. I’m really happy that this project has got off the ground, Chris has done a brilliant job working with St John Ambulance. The defib units will be an important addition to the ground, as much as I hope we don’t need to use any of them!
I am thrilled that the Club have agreed to match fund the first £1000 raised.

The Supporters’ Trust is delighted to be launching our defibrillator appeal.
Ensuring the entirety of Brunton Park has defibrillator coverage by purchasing three new devices to complement the two currently in-situ is something we can all agree is a worthwhile cause.
As you’ll read in the words from fellow Blues, these devices can literally be the difference between life and death and having several at strategic points around the ground can only be a good thing.
Please take a minute to read the accompanying links and literature, it could just help save a life.
We’d like to thank in advance everybody who contributes to this appeal! ❤️

I would like to say how vitally important that positioning of cardiac defibrillators are around our community, and at sporting venues.
I can speak from experience, having suffered an out of hospital cardiac arrest after attending the Carlisle vs Bristol Rovers game on 11h November 2023. Luckily I was pulled from my car, and a defibrillator from the Rugby Club was used by an off duty nurse, to re-start my heart. Thankfully after surgery I have made a full recovery.
It is of the utmost importance that we have these devices all around our community.

On 17.10.21, I suffered a cardiac arrest followed by a triple by-pass operation in the Freeman hospital Newcastle on 27.10.21.
Since then, I’ve become interested in ways to help others who encounter this blink of an eye life threatening event. We hear more stories of fans having cardiac arrests at football matches, so making more defibrillators readily available at Brunton Park is a worthwhile fundraising opportunity for Carlisle United Supporters’ Trust.
This might benefit you, a family member, or the supporter who sits near you on match days.

Personally I think it’s vital for the club to have defibrillators installed around the ground. I myself had 2 heart attacks, 1 in November 2023 and 1 in December 2023.
Both times resulted in stays in hospital and luckily I’ve survived to see the day.
As a sporting fan the amount of games etc lately that have been held up due to a medical emergency in the crowd etc seems to be on the increase. It would be amazing to have defibrillators around the ground and as many as humanly possible.
